Louisiana State Police Detectives Investigating Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputy-Involved Shooting

Chauvin – On September 27, 2026, at 6:30 a.m., detectives within the Criminal Investigations Division, Houma Field Office, were requested by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) to investigate a deputy-involved shooting that occurred on Clinton Street in Chauvin. 

Investigators are working to process the scene and gather further information.  

One subject was shot and pronounced deceased at the scene. One deputy sustained non-life-threatening injuries during a physical altercation. This is an active investigation, and further information will be released when it becomes available.
